Our tool analyzes the prefix of the phone number (the first 3 digits after '0') to determine the original mobile network operator. This information is based on the number ranges allocated by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). - Which operators are covered?
- All five Bangladesh operators are covered: Grameenphone (017, 013), Banglalink (019, 014), Robi (018), Airtel (016), and Teletalk (015).
- Can I use this to find the name of a number's owner?
- No. This tool identifies the mobile operator only â it does not retrieve personal information such as the subscriber's name or address. Subscriber identity data is private and held only by the operators and BTRC.

Bangladesh has five major mobile network operators regulated by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). Grameenphone (GP) is the largest with prefixes 017 and 013, serving over 8 crore subscribers. Banglalink uses prefixes 019 and 014. Robi operates on 018, Airtel (merged with Robi) on 016, and the state-owned Teletalk on 015.
Since the introduction of Mobile Number Portability (MNP) in Bangladesh, subscribers can switch operators while keeping their existing number. A number starting with 017 might now be served by Robi's network even though 017 is a Grameenphone prefix. Our tool identifies the original operator based on the BTRC prefix allocation â the prefix never changes even when the subscriber ports.
